It was made by Ville Valo, the vocalist of the Finnish band H.I.M.
He created the Heartagram over twenty years ago on his birthday, around the time the album “Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666” came out.
The symbol gained many fans in the metal and goth scene, and many pagans have embraced it unapologetically. Its popularity has only increased over the years.
The Heartagram is in Ville’s own words “the juxtaposition between love and death.”.
